Certificate Lists

To review certificates available for purchase, go to Certificate Lists, Purchase County Certificates.

These files will be updated free of charge on the first business day following the last day of the discount period due date (or the first business day of each month beginning in April). If you require updated versions of these files at any other time, a processing fee will be accessed.

Tax Deed Applications

To submit a tax deed application through our module, you will need the following information:

  • A Bidder Number and Password      
  • Bank Account Information; and
  • Contact Information for the Individual/Entity who should receive correspondence on the tax deed application.

Please note:

  1. To apply for a tax deed, at least 22 months must have elapsed since the purchase of the tax certificate. See F.S. 197.432(15)
  2. A certificate holder applying for a tax deed using this module is required, under F.S. 197.502(2), to submit an electronic payment at the time of submission of the application for the following:
    • all amounts required for redemption or purchase of all other outstanding tax certificates, plus interest,
    • any omitted taxes, plus interest,
    • any delinquent taxes, plus interest, and
    • current taxes, if due, covering the property.
  3. In addition to the amounts above, the certificate holder must also pay all fees required to bring the property to sale to the Leon County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. See F.S. 197.502(2)
  4. Failure to pay these fees within 30 days after notice from the clerk will result in the CANCELLATION of the tax deed application.  See F.S. 197.502(2)

  6. After the Leon County Tax Collector’s Office has received funds specified in section 2. above and documents required by statute and processed the application, our office will certify the application to the Clerk, for the property to be sold at auction.
